I’m so excited, the first book in my expanded vampire world releases today!  ~He’s been shackled for decades until her blood and her love set him free.~ “You eat food?” Not just blood. She hadn’t said it aloud, but the guy had fangs. He must be one of those monsters. A vampire. Vampires were real! Oh, my God. She’d been testing samples of vampires. Of bloodsuckers. Of demonic beings who’d suck out her soul while feeding on her blood. Terror gripped her, and she shoved herself farther into the corner, bringing her knees up to shield vital organs. “I can scent your fear, by the way, and it reeks like chlorine.” He shook his arms, rattling the chains. “I’m no threat to you.” He licked his lower lip. “Except when I’m hungry.” A-Fourteen has been wasting away in a dungeon for decades. Enduring Bond Release Countdown–5 Days

Woohoo Enduring Bond releases in 5 days.

Only she can save him.

A-Fourteen has been wasting away in a dungeon for decades. Tortured for years in the name of science, he was stripped of everything—including his name. Scientists want to know the secret to the Kan Asma Vampires’ longevity, but there’s no way they’ll make him talk. They’ve tried everything, but he’d rather die than betray his people.

When they bring the frightened scientist into his cell, he is unimpressed with their newest tactic. The moment he tastes the blood of that unsuspecting woman, his entire world is turned upside down. Mariyah touches him with kindness and manages to shatter his resistance. Because of her, A-Fourteen feels more alive than he has in years. She promises to try and save him. But can he trust her?

Mariyah’s life takes a deadly turn when her blood becomes the key to the Lifespan Institute’s fountain of youth. When she is left to bleed out in the cell of a vampire prisoner, the last thing she expects is to survive. A-Fourteen shows her mercy by not killing her…and Mariyah ends up giving him her heart. If she fails him, he will die, and his blood will be on her hands, staining her soul.

Now she needs to protect herself while trying to rescue the love of her life. When she forms an alliance with the Kan Asma refugees, she plays a dangerous game of double agent. She knows the risks, and she also knows time is running out. Mariyah will do anything to save A-Fourteen and set him free…even if it means sacrificing herself to give him a chance to live.

Mated in Treason Character Profile: Nadia

Mated in Treason, Book 1 in the Kan Asma Vampires series, releases in a week and I am continuing my character introductions.

Now, meet Nadia the heroine of Mated in Treason.

This is how Gunnar sees Nadia the first time they meet:

He tipped his chin and peered at the nurse. Ah, now wasn’t she his angel of mercy? Soft brown curls framed her pretty round face. Wide mocha eyes looked at him with compassion. Lovely plump lips pursed in a no-nonsense simper. Her dimpled chin firmed when she noticed his scrutiny.

This is how I think Nadia would look:

Some facts about Nadia:
Her occupation: RN at the vampire hospital and her favorite job is to work in surgery.
Her boss: Doctor Dominic
Her family: Nadia is from a lower class family. Her parents don’t possess powerful genes or strong vampiric traits.
Her favorite music: Nadia loves soundtracks and symphonies especially Mozart.
Her age: Almost 40
Her hobbies: Reading and bubble baths
Fun things about Nadia: She has a hammock chair in her bedroom, loves tulips and uses shampoo that smells like cherry blossoms.

Well, there’s a little bit about Nadia. She loves fiercely and feels her poverty greatly. She doesn’t know if there’s any way she can overcome her lacking genes but she’ll do anything to make Gunnar hers.

I hope this little glimpse gives you a sneak peak of my heroine in Mated in Treason.
Only a couple days and it releases.

Glad Tidings of Comfort and Joy!

Does that sound a bit like a Christmas Carol? Can you imagine holly and ribbons decorating the halls? There is holiday excitement in the crisp fall air and it is only October. But, we have early Christmas treats to share with you. Starting now, each week Ellora’s Cave is releasing a Regency Christmas novella culminating in the release of two Christmas Traditions Anthologies which I am so privileged to be a part of. Next week I will feature my new release, co-written with the lovely Vivien Jackson, A Christmas Caroline. Today though, I bring you the very first of the Blush Cotillion Christmas Traditions novellas.

TwelveDays of Christmas cover Twelve Days of Christmas
Barbara Miller

A Blush® romance from Ellora’s Cave

Tamara Gifford gets herself invited to Oakley Hall for Christmas to rescue her brother from the reportedly depraved Lord Oakley. When she arrives she discovers that Ashford Steel is a former soldier trying to adjust to governing an estate. He is happy to have his mother and Tamara for company since his brother is supposed to be spending the holiday at Tamara’s house in London.
Though they are both angry at the deception of their brothers they enjoy banding together to find them while Ashford tries to remember the tradition of what Lord Oakley is supposed to do on the Twelve Days of Christmas.
Tamara gives him sound advice about how to go forward with his life rather than looking back. In return he helps her to see that she must make a life for herself and let her brother go. After they locate the young men and rescue them, Tamara agrees to marry Ashford, but what her brother wants to do with the rest of his life could tear apart their hard won love.

Congratulations Barbara Miller on your new release.
